Pam Bearden Reel - Candidate for Chancery Clerk

Pam Bearden Reel, incumbent, announces her candidacy for the upcoming 2011 elections for Chancery Clerk. No stranger to Winston County residents, Reel currently serves you as Chancery Clerk, having been elected by the citizens of Winston County for the past two elections; she now humbly asks you to again trust her with your support and vote in the upcoming election. Prior to being chosen to serve the citizens of Winston County in this honorable position, she worked as Deputy Clerk for seven years. She has nearly fifteen years of combined experience working in the Chancery Clerk’s office, a proven track record. Reel is the daughter of Nancy Bearden, and the late James “Moon” Bearden, both civil servants who have faithfully served the people of Winston County in their respective positions. Being a faithful civil servant has been instilled in her by both of her parents. Her mother, Nancy has worked at the Winston County Extension Service Office for more than fifty years-the longest tenured employee in the history of Mississippi State University. Her father, James “Moon” worked for Winston County in District 3 for almost sixty years, before his passing. Reel, herself, is the mother of Amanda (Joey) Burdine and Kaci (Kyle) Ewing, and grandmother of four: Aiden, Connor, Isaac and Wynn Chandler with the expectation of two additional grandchildren this summer. She loves spending time with her “boys,” and looks forward to watching her family grow. Pam is active in her home church, Wess Chapel, where she spends a lot of time working with children’s programs like Vacation Bible School. She also shares her passion for civic duty outside the Chancery Clerk’s office by serving on the Board of Directors for The Boys and Girls Club, and serving with Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, St. Jude and Chancery Clerks Association since 2004. In addition, she has served alongside Brenda Johnson as Team Captain for the Courthouse and Correctional Facility Relay for Life Teams for the past several years. Through the Chancery Clerk’s office Reel and her deputies, Shawn Butts and Cathy Edwards have the pleasure and opportunity to serve and assist not only the citizens of Winston County but also numerous people attempting to obtain information. The Chancery Clerk is responsible for maintaining important records involving residents of Winston County including; recording and protecting land records; maintaining the official actions of the Board of Supervisors by preparing and recording the Board minutes; filing court documents ranging from adoptions, land disputes, divorces, estates, youth court, and mental, drug and alcohol commitments. Reel has a passion for serving the citizens of Winston County, and she is grateful to you for trusting her in the past with these responsibilities and again humbly she asks that you continue to place that trust in her by allowing her to continue serving you as your Chancery Clerk. “Your votes have always been, and always will be, greatly appreciated,” said Reel. Should you need to reach Reel, at any time, feel free to contract her at 773-5064 (H), 773-3631 (W) or 803-8193 (C). “May God bless each of you,” said Reel. PAID POLITICAL
